What You'll Be Doing

As our new Business Development Manager, you'll play a pivotal role in driving Techlyte's growth by building new partnerships, expanding our dealer network, and strengthening our presence in the market. Your focus will be on securing opportunities, onboarding dealers, and ensuring long-term success for both Techlyte and our partners.

Business Growth & Market Expansion

• Proactively identify and secure new retail, dealership, and distribution opportunities across consumer electronics, outdoor, camping, tools, and related sectors.
• Leverage your experience engaging with buyers from national chain store brands and independent retailers to win new business.
• Pitch and present Techlyte's portfolio of innovative products to prospective stockists and partners with confidence and conviction.
• Work with vendors and brand partners to unlock new opportunities, expand reach, and accelerate growth.

Dealer Acquisition & Onboarding

• Identify, approach, and successfully onboard new dealerships into Techlyte's network.
• Act as the main point of contact during onboarding, ensuring a smooth, professional, and supportive journey for new partners.
• Collaborate with marketing and operations to deliver a seamless onboarding process, from training through to first order fulfilment.

Relationship Management & Partner Success

• Build authentic, trust-based relationships with dealers and retail partners by having real conversations, understanding their challenges, and providing tailored solutions.
• Act as the Partner's Voice, representing dealer needs internally and ensuring their feedback informs how we improve.
• Resolve queries and issues efficiently to maintain confidence and satisfaction.
• Nurture long-term partnerships that drive mutual growth and success.

Strategy & Market Insights

• Develop go-to-market strategies for new product launches, ensuring strong positioning in the retail and dealer landscape.
• Represent the Techlyte brand at trade shows, roadshows, and dealer events to strengthen visibility and credibility.
• Feed market insights and dealer feedback back into our product, marketing, and leadership teams to shape future strategies and offerings.

We're Looking For Someone Who:

• Has 2+ years of sales/business development experience (retail, consumer tech products, or B2B preferred).
• Thrives on prospecting, cold outreach, and building new partnerships.
• Is results-driven and enjoys hitting sales targets.
• Is passionate about tech, gadgets, or outdoor gear.
• Brings strong presentation and negotiation skills.
• Is proactive, resilient, and self-motivated.
• Experience in the outdoor/recreational, camera, or tech retail space.
• Familiarity with networks like Camera speciality stores, large national retailer chains or similar channels.
• Exposure to dealer networks or small business B2B sales.

Other Requirements:

• Permanent work rights in Australia.
• Valid driver's license and car (Victoria-based).
• Your own car to meet potential clients within Victoria.
• Fluent English with strong written and verbal skills.
• Some exposure to CRM systems (or willingness to learn).
• Willingness to travel interstate occasionally (expenses covered).
