We are currently seeking an energetic and experienced Account Manager to join our sales team based in Sydney to focus on driving new business while managing and growing existing accounts with Foodservice distributors, such as Bidfood, PFD, Superior Foods, Countrywide, NAFDA and Independent Distributors. Success will come from opening doors, expanding our footprint, negotiating with confidence, and delivering tailored solutions that add value to customers.

All about the role

Reporting to the National Sales Manager, Food Service, you will be responsible for;

  • Secure new business potential customers while maintaining and growing existing business

  • Assist customer queries about products, prices, availability, and product uses.

  • Maintain weekly/monthly call cycle to ensure customer expectations are met

  • Review and analyse weekly and monthly reports (sales/gross profit margin data, and account profitability).

  • Perform administrative duties such as preparing monthly reports, sales proposals, quotes, and applications, and maintaining call logs and sales records

  • Stay informed on product updates and market trends to support customer needs and business growth

  • Build strong, long-term customer partnerships with a focus on value creation.

  • Collaborate with marketing, supply chain, and operations to deliver customer solutions.

  • Quoting and providing customers with sales/technical information

  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records for all customers using our internal systems

  • Achieve sales and profit targets contributing to overall business performance.

  • Represent Mayers Fine Food at trade shows, industry events, and customer presentations.

All About You

  • You're an experienced Account Manager/Territory Manager or have worked in a similar field-based sales role

  • You have a proven background in Foodservice, FMCG, or Sales industries

  • Exceptional time management and organisational skills are one of your strengths

  • Strong account management experience with a customer-first mindset is key to your success

  • You can plan and structure your own week and work with competing priorities

  • You are proficient with MS Office and have solid computer skills overall

  • You're an excellent interpersonal and communication skills

  • You are self-motivated, focussed on achieving results, and able to work both independently and as part of a team.

  • You're a natural negotiator with an eye for spotting cross-sell and upsell chances.

  • Skilled in presenting solutions and influencing stakeholders is a strength

  • You must have a strong reputation and existing relationships in the Foodservice industry will be highly regarded

  • You are passionate about food and success in a competitive industry.

  • You have a full driver's license - you'll need this to visit your clients

  • Be willing to travel to regional NSW
