Workplace culture is important here at CH Building. Without sounding lame, we are pretty awesome, but we dont take ourselves too seriously. We have quite a young, but experienced team; Charlie 30, Michelle 28. And the rest of team around the same age. We have a team of 4 carpenters, 2 tilers and 2 painters, with many supporting external trades in between.
We regularly have work functions with our clients and amongst ourselves.
You will predominantly be working with Charlie (Director) & Michelle (Project Operations) in the office on daily basis, as well as dealing with our team of experienced tradesman throughout the day.
NB*
This role is ideally for someone who is looking to become a Licensed Builder OR Project Manager themselves one day. As we fully support this and would love to provide the opportunity for someone to be able to build a portfolio and eventually even get their license through us.
But please note, this is not a requirement, but something we hope you may find appealing and an insight into where we see our business developing.
We have systems in place to ensure our workflow is seamless.
Office dogs are welcome. (We have a friendly female resident Boxer in the office already)

As our business grows, we're seeking a capable and experienced Construction Administrator / Office Support who understands the pace and demands of the building & renovations industry.
This role is ideally for someone who is looking to become a builder themselves one day.
About the Role
This is a critical support role for someone who has prior experience working in a building company or renovations business. You'll handle the admin and coordination tasks that keep our renovation projects running smoothly.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage daily office admin, calls & emails
- Schedule client appointments & site visits
- Liaise with suppliers, subcontractors & clients
- Prepare quotes, variations & project documentation
- Oversee compliance paperwork & subcontractor onboarding
- Process purchase orders & track materials
- Support accounts payable (supplier invoices, timesheets)
- Use project management software (ServiceM8 and Buildxact)

About You
To be considered for this role, you must have:
- At least 2 years' experience in a building company or renovations business (ideally more)
- A solid understanding of construction workflows & terminology
- Confidence dealing with trades, suppliers & clients
- Strong organisational skills & attention to detail
- Proficiency with MS Office (Excel, Outlook, Word)
- Experience with Windows PC & Laptops
- Familiarity with Xero
