OpticsCentral is "Australia's Optics Superstore" with a fast growing e-commerce store and full-fledged retail showroom, conveniently located in Mitcham, Victoria.  OpticsCentral represents a wide range of world leading telescope, binoculars, night vision, and microscopes brands including Zeiss, Leica, GPO, Kowa, Pentax, Nikon, Celestron, saxon, Skywatcher, HikMicro, Bushnell and many more.

The role

Working from our Mitcham showroom, we are looking for full-time and part-time Sales and Marketing Graduates who can provide outstanding sales and customer service for customers in a niche category. This role requires an enthusiastic and self-motivated individual with relevant experience who has a drive to succeed and a desire to develop hands-on experience in small business. Interest in astronomy and the outdoors is extremely beneficial for your application but not required. All successful applicants are required to work on Saturdays.

Responsibilities

  • Be a part of a close-knit sales team that works tenaciously to offer personalised and outstanding levels of sales and customer support
  • Attend to all inbound sales enquiries across various channels including phone calls, emails, online chats, in-store sales and store events.
  • Work as part of the Marketing Team to develop, execute sales and marketing activities across multiple platforms including online search engines, social media, comparison sites, forums, magazines, events, etc
  • Grow and optimise the e-commerce website including proper listings of products and creating unique content of our website
  • Take care of the entire customer experience from pre-sales, picking and packing to sales support.
  • Responsible for inventory management – from procurement, processing, receiving stock, picking and packing and dispatch.

Key Skill Requirements

  • Strong written and spoken communication skills with the ability to communicate with customers from all backgrounds and varying interests
  • Positive attitude, attention to detail and customers orientated personality
  • Proven interpersonal skills, including negotiation, problem solving and dispute resolution
  • Ability to balance multiple responsibilities and multi-task effectively.
  • Experience with Retail Express (or similar), Magento 2, FreshDesk (or similar), Microsoft 365, Google Suite and Microsoft Office tools
  • Experience with Social Media, particularly Facebook, TikTok and Instagram
