Sous Chef / Assistant Manager

At our Riverwood site, South-West Sydney we have an exciting permanent opportunity for a Sous Chef / Assistant Manager.

Reporting to the Production Manager the role will each manage a team of food process operatives ensuring production runs to planned schedule and KPI's are met.

This role would suit a Sous Chef with strong leadership qualities, having managed a small or medium team; previous food factory production experience would be advantageous but not essential.

The roles offer a unique chance to broaden your skill set and make a lasting impact on our organization.

The Sous Chef will be in charge of a small team cooking and chilling different food items for the next day's production needs.

The Sous Chef and team will have to meet daily KPI's.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Minimum Certificate III in Commercial Cookery or equivalent
  • Minimum 3 years Experience as a Sous Chef in any food outlet

  • Background in food manufacturing/preparation and/or large commercial kitchen facility would be a bonus

  • Experience managing automated production and packaging machinery and equipment
  • Sound practical knowledge of HACCP
  • Exposure to continual improvement practices
  • Understanding of Workplace Health and Safety practices

  • Ability to successfully motivate and manage a team
  • Solid communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work effectively cross functionally to ensure optimum efficiencies across common processes and consistent standards and deliverables
  • Dedicated with strong work ethic & 'can-do' attitude
  • Ability to work under pressure with pace and energy & meet deadlines
  • Exceptional personal presentation & hygiene
  • Passion for food/hospitality industry
