We are looking for an experienced Sushi Chef to join our team at Blue Lemon Terrigal. This is a full-time position with an annual salary range of $76, ,000.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare and present high-quality sushi dishes, including nigiri, sashimi, rolls, and specialty items.
- Handle all aspects of sushi preparation: cutting fish, cooking rice, seasoning, plating, and garnishing.
- Assist with hot food preparation such as tempura, teriyaki, grilled dishes, and other Japanese-inspired menu items.
- Ensure food safety, hygiene, and quality standards are consistently met.
- Monitor stock levels, manage kitchen supplies, and support smooth daily operations.
- Work closely with the kitchen team to maintain efficiency and consistency.
- Requirements:
- Proven experience as a sushi chef or in a similar role.
- Strong knife skills and deep knowledge of traditional sushi techniques.
- Ability to prepare both sushi and Japanese hot dishes.
- Excellent attention to detail and commitment to quality.
- Strong communication skills and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and public holidays as required.
