Now is an exciting time to join Council and lead a team responsible for the efficient delivery of water and wastewater services to the community.

About the role:

Reporting to the General Manager Water Services this exciting leadership role manages water resource strategy, dam safety and operations, capital program delivery, risk and compliance management and treatment services. Leading a sizable team, you will be responsible for promoting and encouraging best engineering practices to enable safe, reliable and affordable water and wastewater services to the community. Advising the SLT and working collaboratively across Council and the broader community, you will develop and deliver the Integrated Water Management Strategy in line with Council's corporate plan and policies.

What you will bring to the role:

Keeping customer at the heart of all activities, you will demonstrate outstanding contemporary leadership skills and behaviours, with the proven ability to engage collaboratively across a range of internal and external stakeholders. Further to this you will:

  • Hold a relevant tertiary degree and eligibility for corporate membership of Engineers Australia (RPEQ certification or eligibility to obtain certification is essential)
  • Have demonstratable experience in the Water and Wastewater industry ideally within dam engineering or water resources ideally within a complex project environment;
  • Embody visible leadership and embed a strong safety culture through due diligence and management of compliance & legislative obligations; and
  • Build robust relationships across Council and the Community through your exceptional interpersonal and communication skills.
