Job Title: Water Compliance Specialist

The Queensland Government's Department of Local Government, Water and Communities is responsible for managing water resources responsibly and empowering councils to support and grow Queensland communities.

This role operates within the Water Resource Management team in North Region, working closely with stakeholders to ensure compliance with sustainable management and use of water resources.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Undertake regulatory activities associated with water compliance and management, including audits and investigations.
  • Entry and validation of information into CCMS and other water databases.
  • Prioritise and coordinate workflow processes to achieve performance targets.
  • Report regularly to the compliance and monitoring teams and provide input for regional reporting.

Requirements:

  • Authorised officer status under the Water Act 2000 or ability to meet requirements to become an authorised officer.
  • Travel may be required outside of normal office hours and/or overnight accommodation for extended periods.

Location: DLGWV North Region offices, including Ayr, Cairns, Mackay, Townsville, Rockhampton, Mareeba, Longreach, Boogan. Flexible work location arrangements will be considered.
