We are a locally based Electrical Contracting & Engineering business serving the ACT and surrounding region for over 35 years. Our head office is fast-paced, friendly, and supportive, with a strong focus on safety, teamwork, and client service.

Opportunity

  • Permanent part-time: 3 days per week, minimum 18 hours per week. Additional hours up to full-time are negotiable.

The Administration Assistant will handle a wide range of administrative and business support tasks, capable of working independently with minimal supervision to ensure efficiency, effectiveness, and safety across the business.

Key Responsibilities

  • Serve as first point of contact: reception, intercom responses, and directing phone calls.
  • Facilitate clear communication between clients and internal teams.
  • Manage office supplies, printing, filing, and mail collection.
  • Handle email correspondence and general administrative tasks for the Construction and Engineering teams.
  • Coordinate staff training, accommodation, and travel.
  • Assist with staff onboarding, off-boarding, employee documentation, and internal communications.
  • Manage day-to-day bookkeeping tasks (basic bookkeeping experience preferred).
  • Coordinate staff functions and company events; arrange meeting rooms and catering as needed.
  • Record meeting minutes and provide follow-up actions.
  • Support senior management as required.
  • Purchase office and business supplies.
  • Perform ad hoc administrative duties and errands as needed.

Required Skills and Experience

  • Previous experience in a similar administrative role is advantageous but not essential.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Intermediate to advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint)
  • Ability to work effectively independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong interpersonal and customer service skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and time management.
  • Basic bookkeeping experience is preferred.
  • Minimum 1 year of administrative experience in an office environment prefered
  • Must have the right to work in Australia

Desirable Qualifications

  • Experience in a construction, engineering, or professional services environment.
  • Experience with booking travel and coordinating training/events.
