Medical Receptionist – Casual (15–20 hours/week)

Clocktower Medical Practice is a growing, patient-centred general practice located in the heart of Burwood. We are seeking an enthusiastic and reliable Medical Receptionist to join our friendly team on a casual basis, with the opportunity to transition into a permanent role for the right candidate.

About the Role

We are looking for someone who is professional, compassionate, and able to provide an exceptional patient experience. The successful candidate will work closely with our GPs, nurses, and administrative team to ensure smooth day-to-day operations of the clinic.

Hours: 15–20 hours per week initially, with potential for additional hours.

Availability: Must be available for a mix of mornings, afternoons, and occasional Saturdays.

Key Responsibilities

  • Greeting patients and providing excellent customer service
  • Managing patient appointments, recalls, and enquiries
  • Answering phone calls and responding to emails in a professional manner
  • Processing Medicare, DVA, and private billings
  • Assisting with new patient registrations and maintaining accurate clinical records
  • Supporting doctors and nurses with administrative tasks
  • Maintaining cleanliness and organisation of the reception and waiting areas
  • Handling confidential information with discretion and professionalism

About You

  • Previous experience as a Medical Receptionist (preferred but not essential)
  • Experience with MedicalDirector Helix or other medical software (advantage)
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to multitask
  • Reliable, punctual, and able to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Professional presentation and positive attitude
  • Ability to learn quickly and work both independently and as part of a team
