Paediatric Speech Pathologist – Full-Time, Part-Time, or Subcontractor
1 day ago
At PHYZFIT Health & Rehab, we're a growing multidisciplinary clinic with a relaxed, team-oriented culture. You'll join an energetic team of Physiotherapists, Speech Pathologists, and Occupational Therapists who share a passion for learning, collaboration, and achieving meaningful results for our clients.
About the Role
We are seeking a Speech Pathologist to join our team — either full-time or part-time, with the option to discuss subcontracting arrangements. Both opportunities offer flexible hours to suit your lifestyle.
Our clinic is located in Bexley North (2207), with opportunities for mobile and community-based work in the surrounding areas.
Why You'll Love Working With Us
- Exceptional Mentoring & Learning: Work one-on-one with our experienced Principal Speech Pathologist through a structured mentoring program, including weekly check-ins - designed to build genuine clinical confidence.
- Ongoing Professional Development: Access paid external PD courses each year, plus regular in-house education sessions to keep your skills sharp.
- Above-Award Pay: We value your contribution and reward you based on experience and expertise.
- Flexibility & Work-Life Balance: Enjoy the freedom to create a schedule that aligns with your personal and professional goals.
- Career Growth Opportunities: Be part of a small, expanding team with real pathways to senior or supervisory roles, including supporting Allied Health Assistants (non face-to-face time).
- Collaborative Multidisciplinary Team: Join a warm, supportive group that celebrates wins and works together to deliver the best outcomes.
- Protected Admin Time: We block out time in your diary for session preparation and note writing — ensuring quality care without burnout.
- Varied Caseload: Experience both in-clinic and community settings, with a primarily paediatric caseload and opportunities to see adult clients.
- Travel Reimbursements: All community travel is reimbursed to support your work in the field.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive speech and language assessments to identify each child's unique needs and strengths.
- Develop and implement individualised therapy plans addressing communication, cognitive, and social-emotional goals.
- Collaborate closely with families, teachers, and other professionals to ensure cohesive care.
- Participate in multidisciplinary team (MDT) meetings to discuss and plan best-practice interventions.
- Deliver therapy in-clinic, at schools, and in home or community settings.
- Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation, reports, and progress notes.
- Stay current with evidence-based practices and emerging research in paediatric speech pathology.
About You
We welcome new graduates as well as experienced clinicians with 1+ years of paediatric experience and a strong understanding of child development.
You will also be required to have:
- A driver's licence and access to your own vehicle
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for building rapport with children, families, and colleagues
- Strong clinical reasoning and problem-solving abilities
- A commitment to client-centred, evidence-based practice
- Flexibility to travel locally for community visits
- A passion for lifelong learning and making a genuine difference in the lives of children and their families
