We are seeking two dynamic professionals experienced in Community Development to join our team.

Community Development Officer

Permanent Contract, Ref No. 23/25

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop, deliver, and support evidence-based community development initiatives that promote social, inclusion, and wellbeing.
  • Build sustainable partnerships with local community organisations and stakeholders.
  • Support the implementation of Council's strategic plans, including the Regional Public Health Plan and Disability Access and Inclusion Plan.
  • Administer and manage Council's Community Grants programs.
  • Conduct community engagement, research, and analysis to identify service gaps and inform future planning.
  • Prepare high-quality reports, proposals, and funding submissions.
Youth Development Officer

12-month Fixed Term Contract covering Maternity Leave, Ref No. 24/25

Key Responsibilities

  • Continue to deliver key actions from the Youth Action Plan, including:
  • Coordinating inclusive, innovative programs and events for young people.
  • Strengthening youth participation through consultation, outreach, and engagement.
  • Building partnerships with schools, clubs, and organisations to support youth-led initiatives.
  • Promoting youth development through strategic planning, research, and evaluation.
  • Supporting the visibility and impact of youth voices across Council and the community.

To be successful in these roles, you have will have tertiary qualifications in community development, community services or related disciplines and experience in coordinating community project and initiatives. Your capabilities will include excellent communication, interpersonal and stakeholder engagement skills.

These positions are on a full-time basis classified at Level 4 based on skills and experience under the City of Burnside Administration Employees Enterprise Agreement The successful candidates will have a current SA Drivers Licence and undertake National Police and DHS Checks as part of the on-boarding process. You must have the right to live and work in Australia to apply for these positions.
