Based in Melbourne's vibrant CBD, Sutton Laurence King Lawyers (SLK) is a full-service boutique law firm. Our team is dedicated to delivering exceptional service to our clients, and as we continue to grow, we are looking for an Accounts Officer to join our supportive and dynamic team This position provides a pathway for continued growth and professional development within the Legal Accounts function. This is a full-time, office-based position that includes the flexibility to work remotely one day per week after the eligibility period.

The Opportunity

We're seeking a detail orientated Accounts Officer to take on a broad, all-encompassing role. You'll assist in managing the day-to-day operations of our internal finance function, working closely with the Practice Manager and Managing Partner for support and guidance.

Key Responsibilities

  • Enter accounts payable and receivable
  • Invoicing
  • Reconcile Trust, Office, and Credit card transactions
  • Conduct debt collection
  • Process trust transactions
  • Support the firm's billing processes
  • Assisting with Payroll Tax Lodgements alongside Accountant
  • Company reporting
  • Assist the Practice Manager with various accounts functions
  • Perform other ad-hoc finance and administrative duties as needed

Skills and Experience

  • Proven experience in a similar role with similar demands
  • Previous experience in a legal firm
  • Proficient in Actionstep reporting and Xero is an advantage
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Highly organised with exceptional time management skills
  • A positive and pro-active attitude
