Our client is a well-established specialist building/construction law firm conveniently located in Melbourne’s CBD with a very strong reputation in their area of expertise. An opportunity is now available for a bright, experienced and motivated individual to join their management team as a
**Practice Manager** to ensure their continued smooth operation and future growth.
**About the role**
In this dynamic and ‘hands on’ role, your duties will include:
- Maintaining the office accounting, such as accounts receivable, accounts payable, general ledger, payroll, payroll tax and BAS
- Administering the trust accounting and adhering to all relevant legislation
- Ensuring all tax and statutory reporting deadlines are met
- Debtor management
- Managing Human Resource functions (including administration recruitment, performance management and induction)
- Managing outsourced IT contracts and troubleshooting day-to-day issues
- Liaising with accountants, bank managers, VLSBC and the LIV
- Overseeing reception and office administration staff to ensure smooth operation of the office at all times
- Maintaining responsibility for all firm insurance, including PI and General Business Insurance
- Managing staff functions and external client events
- Liaising with Building Management and contractors regarding office/floor maintenance
- Other general administrative duties as required.
**About you**
To be successful in this role you
**must have previous experience in an Accounts/Practice Manager role, within a legal office**. Experience with Leap, Cloud and MYOB would be an advantage, but is not essential.
You will also possess:
- Demonstrated experience with trust accounting, general accounting and ideally office management;
- Strong Microsoft Office Suite skills;
- Highly developed and polished communication and interpersonal skills and the ability to effectively liaise at any level and build strong working relationships;
- Ideally sound knowledge across the full scope of HR issues and the
- Ability to anticipate and solve both operational and strategic issues.
