About the role

We are looking for a full-time Bookkeeper to join our team at Modern Furniture in Cheltenham, VIC. In this role, you will be responsible for maintaining the company's financial records and ensuring accurate and timely bookkeeping and accounting processes.

What you'll be doing

  • Perform day-to-day bookkeeping tasks, including recording financial transactions, reconciling accounts, and preparing financial statements
  • Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable, ensuring timely and accurate payments and collections
  • Assist with tax preparation and compliance, working closely with the company's accountant
  • Maintain and update the company's financial records and databases
  • Provide administrative support to the finance and accounting team as needed
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of financial processes and procedures

What we're looking for

  • Strong experience in bookkeeping and accounting, ideally in a small business or retail setting
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy, with the ability to maintain meticulous financial records
  • Proficiency in using accounting software, such as MYOB (Acumatica)
  • Strong organisational and time management skills to juggle multiple tasks and meet deadlines
  • Effective communication skills, both written and verbal, to interact with colleagues and external stakeholders
  • A commitment to continuously learning and improving financial processes
