The Department of Climate Change, Energy, the Environment & Water (DCCEEW) are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Project Officer to support the delivery of key initiatives within our IT Team. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a dynamic environment and enjoys working collaboratively to achieve project outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in planning, coordinating, and monitoring project activities
  • Prepare project documentation including reports, schedules, and communications
  • Liaise with internal and external stakeholders to ensure project alignment
  • Track progress against milestones and escalate issues as needed
  • Support governance processes including risk and issue management
  • Manage budget tracking and procurement support activities

About You

  • Strong organisational and time management skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Experience in project coordination or administration
  • Familiarity with project management tools and methodologies (e.g., Agile, PRINCE2) is desirable
  • Experience with systems such as MyWorkZone, OneProcure, and CS Connect is desirable

Essential requirements

  • Relevant tertiary qualifications and/ or significant experience in projects involving the design, development and procurement of IT Infrastructure, systems or services
