The role sits in a Department of Planning, Housing and Infrastructure (DPHI) led team reporting directly to the Office of the Deputy Secretary for Property, Development and Valuation. The team was formed to embark on a comprehensive review of the Land Acquisition (Just Terms Compensation) Act 1991 and associated whole of government policy and procedures.

This is a considerable undertaking, with implications for major infrastructure projects, engagement with state and local government and the public, and an opportunity to make a long term and lasting difference to those impacted by land acquisitions of the Government. The team works with a large range of stakeholders including Acquiring Authorities, Government departments, the public and indigenous stakeholders to enable this significant reform to the Act and any associated policies and procedures.

- **Office location: Parramatta**
- **Salary: $106,025 - $117,363 + super**

Possible opportunity to extend the role beyond 30 June 2025 in the future.

**The role**

As a Project Officer, you will:

- Coordinate requests on behalf of the project team to ensure timely and accurate information and responses.
- Undertake a range of project-related tasks including research, data collection, and collation of information, consultation.
- Provide sound advice and recommendations to support strategy development, decision-making, and improve the effectiveness of projects, programs, and processes.
- Manage and coordinate the project’s workflow of activities and provide administration support to the project team such as preparing project documentation, briefing papers, reports, submissions, and responses to information requests.

- Demonstrated experience in providing project management support.
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities within tight timeframes.
- Proficiency in using project management tools and software.
