Little Estate Lawyers is a boutique Wills and Estates law firm based in Brisbane. We pride ourselves on delivering straightforward, practical legal advice and solutions, with a strong focus on reliability and communication.

We are currently seeking a Junior Wills and Estates Lawyer to join our team.  This opportunity is ideal for someone who is newly admitted as a solicitor in Queensland.

About the role

  • Areas of service - you have the opportunity work on estate planning, estate administration and estate litigation matters.
  • File management - you will have carriage of files and be responsible for delivering high-quality legal services under the supervision of a senior lawyer.
  • Professional development and support - you will have the opportunity to enhance your legal skills through hands-on experience, while benefiting from dedicated administrative support to help manage your files efficiently.
  • Business development - you will play an active role in building and maintaining client relationships, contributing to the growth of the firm through networking, referrals and community engagement.

Skills required

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to convey complex information clearly and effectively.
  • Proven ability to manage competing priorities, work under pressure, and meet deadlines.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and a commitment to delivering high-quality work.
  • Demonstrated ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team environment.
  • Working knowledge of the Succession Act 1981 (Qld) and the Powers of Attorney Act 1998 (Qld).
  • An understand of estate planning principles.
  • An understanding of the estate administration process.
  • An understanding of the requirements of a family provision claim.
  • 0-1 year post-admission experience.

Preferred skills

  • Post-admission experience in Wills and Estates or a willingness to specialise in this area.
  • Experience drafting simple estate planning documents
  • Experience with Smokeball or similar practice management system.

You must be admitted as a solicitor in Queensland, or eligible for admission in Queensland if currently admitted in another jurisdiction.
