Sydney, New South Wales, Australia Resmed Full time $120,000 - $180,000 per year

About The Team
At Resmed, we're more than just a company treating sleep apnea—we're shaping the future of connected health, empowering people to live healthier, happier lives. Our Engineering teams drive this mission forward, building world-class diagnostic and therapy products, and patient and provider software applications.

Delivering these innovations requires exceptional coordination across complex engineering programs and cross-functional teams. That's where our Engineering Program Management Office (PMO) shines.

We are an international team of highly motivated professionals. We aim high and consistently achieve our goals, driven by collaboration, agility, and the strategic use of technology. We drive some of the most complex, cross-product initiatives whilst managing dependencies and projects that span the entire company.

What You'll Do
We are seeking an experienced Project Manager who is passionate about transforming delivery practices and has a deep understanding of embedded medical device software delivery to oversee the end-to-end release management lifecycle within our medical device products. This role combines the core responsibilities of embedded software release management with leadership in adopting modern development best practice, including Agile frameworks and AI/ML-based process optimization.

This role requires understanding of software development in regulated environments combined with strong cross-functional leadership in a product team environment.

The successful candidate will play a key role in accelerating our transformation of software development to an Agile delivery lifecycle, spanning from scope definition to final product release. Your ability to harness AI and machine learning tools to improve collaboration and automation will be essential to modernizing and scaling our release operations.

You will coordinate embedded software releases, to ensure regulatory compliance, product quality, and timely delivery, while driving collaboration cross functionally

Release Management (Embedded Software)

  • Lead the end-to-end release planning and orchestration of embedded software in medical devices.
  • Own the release lifecycle from requirements capture to production deployment, ensuring traceability and fit for purpose regulatory documentation.
  • Define and implement hybrid frameworks (e.g., Agile-Waterfall bridging models) tailored to embedded systems and regulated environments.
  • Define and maintain release schedules.
  • Collaborate closely with QA/RA teams to ensure adherence to regulatory and quality standards.
  • Drive release readiness reviews, verification planning, and risk assessments.
  • Manage defect triage and post-release retrospective analysis.
  • Act as a change agent for cultural transformation—advocating Agile values across engineering, product management, and QA.

Project Management & Cross-functional Delivery

  • Act as the project lead in a product team, aligning embedded software delivery with product roadmap goals.
  • Work with software engineering teams to plan, prioritize, and track sprints, milestones, and deliverables.
  • Ensure effective communication across hardware, firmware, software, QA, and product teams.
  • Identify and mitigate project risks; resolve blockers to maintain delivery cadence.
  • Provide regular status updates to stakeholders and leadership.
  • Collaborate with product managers, engineering managers, program managers, and other stakeholders to ensure alignment with business commitments and sync points across teams.

What You Bring

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science or related discipline
  • 4+ years of Program Management experience working directly with multiple agile, product and/or platform teams.
  • Solid grasp of software development lifecycle (SDLC) methodologies and exposure to Agile and DevOps methodologies
  • Proficiency with modern agile and DevOps platforms—Jira, Confluence, GitLab/GitHub, and AI-enhanced project tools (e.g., Jira Advanced Roadmaps).
  • Proven ability to assess release-related risks and implement effective mitigation strategies.
  • Analytical and detail-oriented, with a proactive approach to problem-solving and a focus on refining release processes and improving efficiency.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, enabling effective collaboration with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
  • Experience working with medical devices or a regulated environment is desirable.
