We are seeking a motivated and detail-focused Assistant Accountant to join our Corporate Services team. This new position plays a key role in providing accounting support across all Cobdenhealth business units, ensuring accurate, timely, and compliant financial operations.

About the Role

Working closely with the Chief Operating Officer, you will:

  • Assist with month-end and year-end reporting, reconciliations, and journal preparation.
  • Coordinate day-to-day transactional finance operations, ensuring smooth accounts payable, accounts receivable, and bank reconciliations.
  • Support budget preparation, forecasting, and financial analysis.
  • Assist with statutory compliance including BAS, PAYG, Superannuation, and FBT.
  • Provide back-up payroll support when required.
  • Contribute to process improvement and finance system enhancements.
  • Provide relief for key finance functions during staff absences.
About You

We're looking for someone who brings:

  • A tertiary qualification in Accounting, Finance, or similar (or working towards).
  • Experience in an Assistant Accountant or equivalent finance role.
  • Strong reconciliation and month-end process skills.
  • A solid understanding of AP/AR and payroll processes.
  • Intermediate to advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
  • Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail.
  • A collaborative approach with the ability to guide and support finance team members.

Experience in health, aged care, or the not-for-profit sector will be highly regarded.
