Position InformationTumut is a town in the Riverina region of New South Wales, situated on the north-west foothills of the Snowy Mountains and is located on Wiradjuri lands. Tumut Public School boasts a history spanning over 150 years. The school is a mix of the old and the new, with refurbished buildings and new facilities to enhance and promote learning for the 21st century. The current enrolment is 288 students, of which 13% identify as Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander.
The school is committed to ongoing student growth and development. This is achieved through: challenging, engaging and intentional instruction that has been carefully planned; the provision of wellbeing supports and a culture of high expectations. High Impact Teaching Strategies (HITS) are foundational instructional practices that underpin the pedagogical framework at the school, including data informed instruction, explicit teaching, metacognitive strategies, questioning and feedback.
Tumut Public School's vision statement is to strive to create a culture of excellence, opportunity and success for all. The school engages in regular consultation with P&C, AECG and the wider school community to discuss school direction, decision making and resource allocation. The local AECG is supportive and engaged in guiding cultural learning and experiences for students and staff.

High level educational leadership with the skills to lead and manage a complex public school focused on the delivery of high quality education
Ability to lead and manage rigorous and inclusive whole school teaching and learning programs
High level communication and interpersonal skills with the capacity to build positive relationships and engage all levels of the school and educational community
Ability to lead and manage the development and performance of staff to improve teaching and learning
Ability to plan systems and manage resources effectively and equitably to enhance teaching and learning
Capacity to lead staff in implementing the Department's Aboriginal education policy and to ensure quality outcomes for Aboriginal people

The classification and remuneration of our school principals is based on school complexity, as measured through each school's RAM allocation. As part of the ongoing application of the new structure a review of thresholds and outcomes will occur on an annual basis. The principal classification for this school is Principal Level P1 for 2025.
