About the Restaurant
Ginza Teppanyaki Japanese Restaurant is the largest and longest-standing teppanyaki restaurant in Melbourne CBD. We pride ourselves on delivering an authentic and interactive dining experience featuring high-quality Japanese cuisine. We are currently seeking a skilled Chef de Partie to join our dynamic kitchen team。
About the Role
We are looking for a dedicated and passionate Chef de Partie who excels in food quality, has strong attention to detail, and can confidently perform in front of customers at the teppanyaki hot plate. This role requires a team player who can support the kitchen in delivering exceptional dining experiences while maintaining high standards in food preparation, presentation, and hygiene.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee all aspects of food preparation, production, stock control, hygiene, wastage, portion control, and presentation.
- Prepare and cook food, including performing in front of customers on the teppanyaki hot plate.
- Perform work duties responsibly in accordance with workplace health and safety standards and use personal protective equipment (PPE) as required.
- Maintain a high standard of operational hygiene and comply fully with food safety and hygiene regulations.
- Ensure presentation and portion control are consistently maintained.
- Maintain positive working relationships with all staff to ensure efficient communication and teamwork.
Requirements
- Experience: Minimum of 1 year of experience as a Chef de Partie.
- Qualifications: Certificate IV in Kitchen Management / Commercial Cookery
- Skills & Attributes:
- o Strong knowledge of Japanese cuisine (teppanyaki experience preferred).
- o Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
- o Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- o High attention to detail and commitment to food quality.
- o Confidence and professionalism when performing in front of customers
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $76,960.00 per year
