The Role

As the Development Manager, you will be a strategic driver in delivering high-value development projects, ensuring alignment with business objectives, profitability, and stakeholder satisfaction. You will lead the full project lifecycle — from site acquisition through to approvals, construction, and handover.

Key Responsibilities

· Lead a portfolio of vertical property development projects, including rezoning, subdivision, and staged commercial/residential builds.

· Develop and manage detailed feasibility studies, risk assessments, and business cases.

· Drive projects through planning approvals, design development, procurement, and delivery.

· Oversee consultants, contractors, and construction partners to ensure compliance, budget control, and quality assurance.

· Prepare and present reports and development strategies to directors and key stakeholders.

· Identify acquisition opportunities and lead due diligence for potential development sites.

· Maintain and enhance internal processes for governance, reporting, and project management.

· Actively engage with councils, planning bodies, and community stakeholders to ensure project success.

About You

· Bachelor's degree in Property, Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field

· 4 years experience in property development or project management (civil background highly regarded)

· Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills

· Strong understanding of local planning and development regulations

· Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines

· Commercial acumen and analytical thinking

· Experience managing internal and external project teams across all phases of development.

· A proactive, solutions-focused mindset with strong leadership qualities.

· Excellent financial acumen and commercial awareness to manage project budgets and feasibility

· Tertiary qualification in a relevant discipline such as Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Urban Planning or Project Management

Desirable (Not Essential)

  • Postgraduate qualifications in Property, Urban Planning, or Project Management.

  • Experience with infrastructure-led or civil land development projects.

  • Familiarity with NSW planning and zoning regulations.

  • Membership in property or construction professional bodies.
