Sportscover is looking for its newest star recruit to join its Claims Team

Our rapid growth and expansion has lead to a new, exciting opportunity for someone to join our Mulgrave Head Office with a full time position as a Claims Administration Officer.

ABOUT THE ROLE:

The Claims Administration Officer's role covers a breadth of responsibilities within the claims Department, from basic administration to reporting. The challenge of this role is to balance and prioritise time-sensitive tasks whilst executing tasks to a high degree of accuracy. The ability to manage claimants clients alike and provide clear succinct directions over the telephone whilst keeping calm is crucial. You will support the Claims Team in day-to-day functions whilst serving as the "face" of Sportscover as you will be the first point of contact for stakeholders.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Claims Specific Duties includes:

  • General Claims enquires
  • Attending to Claim Form requests in a timely and accurate manner
  • Liaise with Brokers and Sporting Associations to obtain relevant information pertaining to new claims and claim form requests.
  • Process payment requests in system to ensure timely payment
  • e-Filing correspondence within database
  • Generate weekly reports for Head of Claims Operations on metrics

Data entry of new claims includes:

  • Reviewing claim documentation and extracting pertinent information for processing
  • Verify claims to policy by understanding claim and applying to correct policy;
  • Setting estimate of claim (EG. For PA up to relevant claims authority);
  • Follow up pending items (including matching claimant with policy and club);
  • Send letters to claimants as required for pending requirements and other relevant information;
  • Process claims including calculation of estimates and final payment amount, up to relevant claims authority;
  • Follow up and enter pending items data as required;
  • Provide other assistance to claims officers as required;

General administration duties include:

  • Daily reception relief
  • Sort and review physical correspondence.
  • Fax and email as required.
  • Maintain data spreadsheets and documents
  • Type all documentation as required.
  • Assist claims officers and management staff with office related tasks as required.

Liaise with and assist fellow team members and underwriting staff as required.

Other duties as required.

ABOUT YOU:

Applicants interested in this role should have at a minimum…

Qualifications - Sound knowledge of computer applications – Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook.

Education/Experience - High School Certificate, suitable tertiary qualification and/or training in Human Resource Management or Office Management. 1-2 years general work experience would be preferred.

Language Skills - Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.  Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organisation.

Mathematical Skills - Basic mathematical reasoning.  Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as proportions, percentages, area, circumference and volume.

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations - Insurance industry Code of Practice course competency.

Work Environment:

Office environment - The noise level in the work environment is usually quiet.

Note: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to sit.  The employee is occasionally required to stand, walk, use arms or hands to reach and listen or talk.

The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to five kilograms.  Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and colour vision.
