Associate – Wholesale

About the Role

ARX Placement Solutions is growing and we are looking for an Associate to join our Broking and Placements team in Sydney. This role is ideal for recent graduates or early career professionals with some experience in corporate, finance, banking or professional services who are looking to build a long-term career in the insurance sector.

In this role, you will be involved in the full placement process, working alongside senior team members on complex and high value risks to deliver strong outcomes for our clients. You will gain valuable exposure to the placements process and the insurance industry, build strong working relationships with our retail broker partners and insurer markets, and develop your technical and market knowledge.

With the resources, guidance and market access we provide, you will be supported to grow your career across multiple disciplines and will have a clear pathway into senior broking and placement roles.

What you will be doing

• Designing, preparing and negotiating wholesale insurance placements
• Supporting the end-to-end process from submission through to binding
• Maintaining and strengthening existing relationships while helping to establish new ones
• Working with the team to deliver accurate and timely placements
• Identifying opportunities to improve processes and sharing practical ideas
• Staying informed on market trends and regulatory changes to add value in discussions

What we are looking for

• Tertiary qualification in business, finance, commerce or a related field is essential
• Some experience in a corporate, finance, banking or professional services environment, or a role requiring strong client interaction and organisational skills
• Any prior insurance exposure is an advantage but not essential
• Strong communication skills and the ability to build relationships with retail broker partners and insurer markets
• Commercial awareness with strong problem solving and negotiation skills
• Attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy and quality
• A proactive mindset, self motivation and the ability to work well in a team
