About Us
Port Melbourne institution Ciao Cielo is a contemporary Italian restaurant serving up house made pasta and a range of delicate and delicious dishes in a classic European setting.
We showcase contemporary Italian food, while paying homage to traditional techniques in the surrounds of a classical heritage building along side a very popular outdoor garden space. Close to the beach and the City, we thrive in summer.
About the Role
An exciting and rewarding opportunity exists for two sous chefs with a passion for wonderful Italian food to join our team. Are you passionate? We really want someone whom has experience in producing high quality dishes and working with a larger team. Experience with European cuisine and a drive to lead. The right candidate will be mentored into the future to hopefully step into a head chef role. Show us your talent and enjoy seeing your creations come to light along side assisting in developing up and coming chefs.
Salary Range: $80,000 - $90,000 plus super
In this role you will:
- Support the Executive Chef to run a smooth operation
- Work closely with the Executive Chef to come up with exciting and seasonal dishes
- Maintain our high standards
- Have strong leadership ability and excellent communication
- Participate in maintaining the kitchen to the highest cleanliness standards
- Mentor & train junior staff
About You
The successful applicant will be an established Chef. You will have a strong desire to create and execute beautiful European dishes. Love your team, respect and appreciate everyones effort and supportive of a positive work environment.
You will have:
- The ability to hold down any section & leading others.
- Co-ordinate and communicate effectively to run a service
- A demonstrated desire to lead and drive success for the team
- Minimum Certificate III in Commercial Cookery
- Minimum 1 years experience at a similar level
- A strong understanding of all WHS procedures
- Experience in very clean busy well organised kitchens is helpful
- Excellent communication skills
- Outstanding time-management skills
- Experience working in mid volume to high volume, fine dining or smart casual restaurants.
