Circl is a new restaurant based in Melbourne CBD, bringing a world of an extensively curated list of rare wines and champagnes paired with a sophisticated curated menu. We're looking for an experienced Sous & Pastry Chef to join our team and help us in creating an incredible guest experience and indulge in a world of fine wine and food.
Responsibilities (Sous Chef):
- Assist the Head Chef in planning and curating seasonal menus
- Preparing and cooking high-quality dishes according to established recipes and standards.
- Assist Head Chef with supervising and coordinate the kitchen staff, delegating tasks and ensuring high standards of food preparation and presentation
- Uphold and enforce all food safety and hygiene regulations to ensure a safe working environment
- Foster a positive and collaborative team culture, mentoring and developing junior kitchen staff
- Collaborate with kitchen team members to coordinate cooking times and ensure timely delivery of orders.
- Participate in ongoing training and development opportunities to enhance culinary skills and knowledge.
Requirements:
- Previous experience in a similar culinary role, preferably in a high-volume restaurant or hotel environment.
- Formal culinary training or apprenticeship certification is desirable.
- Strong understanding of culinary techniques, food safety principles, and kitchen equipment operation.
- Creative flair and passion for food, with a focus on delivering memorable dining experiences to guests.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
