Junior Sous Chef – Melbourne Pub

Step up and support our Executive Chef in leading a dynamic kitchen team.

We're a busy Melbourne pub with a reputation for quality food and genuine hospitality. We're on the lookout for a Junior Sous Chef who's ready to take ownership, support our Executive Chef, and help drive the kitchen to the next level.

The Role

As Junior Sous Chef, you'll work closely with the Executive Chef to:

  • Support the leadership of day-to-day kitchen operations.
  • Run service smoothly and confidently when the Executive Chef isn't on the pass.
  • Assist with rostering, stock control, and ordering.
  • Maintain the highest standards of food presentation, consistency, and hygiene.
  • Contribute to menu development and seasonal specials.
  • Mentor junior team members and lead by example.

What We're Looking For

  • Previous experience as a Chef de Partie or Junior Sous in a high-volume kitchen.
  • Solid technical cooking skills with a flair for pub and modern Australian cuisine.
  • Strong communication and leadership qualities.
  • Organisational skills and an ability to thrive under pressure.
  • A collaborative, can-do attitude, with a passion for hospitality.
  • Availability across nights and weekends.
