The Opportunity:

This is a hands-on, autonomous senior HR role reporting directly to the COO. You'll be responsible for bringing HR strategy to life; translating vision into action through the design and delivery of key HR projects, frameworks, and processes. You'll lead the HR function end-to-end, with full ownership of the employee lifecycle and a strong focus on execution.

We're looking for someone who rolls up their sleeves, thrives in a fast-paced environment, and is passionate about building fit-for-purpose HR solutions. This is a role for a true 'doer', someone who can both strategise and deliver.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage the HR function independently, acting as a trusted advisor to the COO and senior leadership
  • Operationalise HR strategy through the design and implementation of key projects and initiatives
  • Own and execute all aspects of the employee lifecycle from recruitment, onboarding to performance, development, and offboarding
  • Build and embed HR frameworks, policies, and processes from the ground up
  • Drive cultural transformation and organisational change across a diverse, international workforce
  • Ensure compliance with employment legislation across multiple jurisdictions
  • Design and launch new HR programs and frameworks from scratch
  • Manage employee relations, conflict resolution, and workplace wellbeing programs
  • Partner with leaders to align HR with business priorities and foster a high-performance culture

About You:

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business, or a related field
  • Minimum 5 years' experience in senior HR role within higher/vocational education sectors
  • Proven ability to lead HR autonomously in a standalone capacity
  • Strong track record of delivering HR projects and building frameworks from scratch
  • Hands-on, practical approach with a 'roll up your sleeves' attitude
  • Proven success in driving organisational change and cultural transformation
  • Comfortable navigating ambiguity and building HR structures in evolving environments
  • Exceptional interpersonal, communication, and problem-solving skills
  • Strong knowledge of Australian employment law and global HR practices
  • Experience in international education or multicultural workplaces is highly desirable
