About the Role

Indigenous Job Match (IJM) is proud to support Strong Women Talking in recruiting for a culturally grounded Intake & Assessment Officer.

This is more than an admin role — this is a culturally sacred entry point for women seeking healing and safety.

As Intake & Assessment Officer, you'll:

  • Gently guide women through SWT's intake and eligibility process
  • Provide trauma-informed assessments and brief solution-focused support
  • Link women to services and refer when needed
  • Maintain accurate records and data entry in the client management system
  • Support healing-based group programs and assist with welcome packs
  • Represent SWT's values of respect, cultural safety, and sisterhood in every interaction

This Role Is For You If You:

  • Are an Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander woman
  • Have experience or understanding of family and domestic violence
  • Are grounded in community and can sit in safety with women experiencing trauma
  • Can hold professional boundaries while being culturally responsive
  • Are confident with phone-based support, intake systems, and note-taking
  • Understand the importance of women's business and culturally safe support systems

Mandatory Requirements

  • Identify as Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander
  • Identify as Female, as this is a women's business role
  • Hold or be willing to obtain a Blue Card and National Police Check

Identified Role

This is an Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander women-only position, permitted under:

  • Section 8(1) of the Racial Discrimination Act 1975 (Cth)
  • Sections 25, 104, and 105 of the Queensland Anti-Discrimination Act 1991
