About the role:
As an Asset Performance Analyst at Aurizon Network, you will play a crucial role in unlocking the value of data to drive insights and support data-driven decision-making for our railway assets.

This is a fantastic opportunity to gain in-depth knowledge about our critical railway assets, and support our civil, electrical, and control systems engineering and asset management teams.

This role is suited for someone who enjoys analysing data and drawing insights to improve asset performance and management strategy. You'll be part of a small, dynamic team with a culture of collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement.

We are looking for a skilled and analytical professional with a passion drawing insight from complex dataset, and who can effectively communicate insights to a wide range of stakeholders

You will be responsible for:

  • Design, develop and maintain PowerBI reporting tools and processes.
  • Proactively engage with internal stakeholders to understand needs and requirements.
  • Collaborate across diverse teams to generate solutions to address asset reliability and performance challenges.
  • Ensure data integrity and monitor reporting quality.
  • Provide support to analyse asset reliability and condition.
  • Provide support to undertake smaller and larger pieces of statistical and/or operational analysis to inform asset management decisions, within compressed timeframes.

About you:

Friendly communicator with strong interpersonal skills, supported by a relevant tertiary qualification or equivalent experience in IT, Engineering, Business Intelligence, Data Science, or Finance.

Specific Skills:

  • Analytical Expertise: Experienced level of analytical, research and problem-solving skills to provide value adding solutions and recommendations.
  • Technical Proficiency: Experience working with reporting software and other relevant technologies used to extract data and analyse data. Experience designing and developing data models in reporting software,
  • Robust systems experience and understanding of business intelligence tools: Power BI, - SQL, , DAX, R or Python.
  • Consistent Growth and development: High level of skill working both autonomously and collaboratively in a team.
  • End-user mindset: To engage with users to fully understand underlying needs and to train and coach users.
