About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Business Analyst to support process transformation within a large Queensland Government department. This role focuses on analysing, documenting, and improving business and system processes across finance and procurement functions.

You'll work closely with internal stakeholders and shared service partners to bridge current (AS-IS) and future (TO-BE) state processes, contributing to a successful S/4 HANA implementation.

Key Responsibilities

  • Evaluate and document AS-IS and TO-BE business processes, identifying gaps and improvement opportunities.
  • Develop clear process maps, business requirements, and supporting documentation.
  • Collaborate with key stakeholders to ensure alignment between business needs and technical solutions.
  • Contribute to testing (UAT) and support training activities to ensure smooth implementation and adoption of new systems.
  • Identify risks, propose mitigation strategies, and communicate outcomes effectively to stakeholders.
  • Partner with change managers to articulate and embed process changes across finance and procurement operations.
  • Provide analytical insight and recommendations to inform decision-making and optimise business performance.

Skills and Experience

  • 6+ years' experience as a Business Analyst across financial operations, procurement, or accounting functions.
  • Proven experience in ERP systems such as SAP S/4HANA, SAP ECC 6.0, SAP FICO, Concur, or Ariba.
  • Strong background in process mapping, stakeholder engagement, UAT, and documentation.
  • Exceptional communication skills with the ability to translate complex information into clear business language.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
  • Experience within Queensland Government or similar public sector environments is highly regarded.
  • Business Analyst certification (e.g. CBAP) and familiarity with SAP Signavio are desirable but not essential.
