The Role:

We have an excellent opportunity for an experienced
Accounts Payable Officer
to join the team based at our Sydney CBD head-office on a 6-month contract.

With a primary focus on the New Zealand operations, this varied role will be responsible for ensuring the accurate, timely, and efficient processing of accounts payable functions and supplier payments, while providing exceptional internal and external customer service.

Key Responsibilities:

• Process and verify supplier invoices, ensuring alignment with purchase orders, goods receipts, and agreed terms.
• Coordinate with operations teams to resolve invoice discrepancies, delivery issues, and price variances.
• Prepare weekly and monthly payment runs, ensuring timely payment to key manufacturing and raw material suppliers.
• Reconcile supplier statements and follow up on outstanding credits or issues.
• Support inventory and cost accounting by maintaining accurate records of materials and service purchases.
• Assist with month-end closing, including accruals, reconciliations, and reporting on accounts payable balances.
• Maintain supplier master data and ensure compliance with internal controls and audit requirements.
• Contribute to process improvements to enhance efficiency and accuracy in accounts payable activities.
• Provide support during audits and assist with ad hoc reporting as required
• Provide month-end intercompany invoicing support.
• Assist with internal reporting requirements, including audits and tax schedules.

About You:

We are looking for a proactive Accounts Payable professional who is adaptable and has a commitment to accountability.

To be successful in this role, you will bring:

• Solid experience in accounts payable, ideally within a manufacturing environment.
• Exceptional attention to detail with a high level of accuracy and reliability.
• Strong time management skills with the ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel (advanced), Outlook, and Word.
• Experience using ERP systems, preferably Great Plains.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills to engage effectively across all levels of the business.
• Problem-solving mindset with the ability to work independently and take initiative.
• A flexible and adaptable approach with a willingness to support broader finance activities when required.
• Previous experience in FMCG or manufacturing industry with a global company will be a strong advantage.
