This role is classified as Level 2 role under SBS Australia's current Enterprise Agreement (with an hourly base range of $42 - $54 including 22.5% loading). The successful applicant will be offered remuneration that is commensurate with their skills and experience and in alignment with this framework.

As a rostered shiftworker, additional shift penalty payments may apply for work performed outside of ordinary hours, including weekends and public holidays, as per the SBS Enterprise Agreement (EA). SBS may also require you to work reasonable overtime, where overtime will be paid at applicable rates in accordance with the EA.

The Department

The principal purpose of SBS News and Current Affairs is to provide the most accurate, balanced and detailed coverage of international and major domestic news across all platforms. It is our role to deliver depth and analysis to help our audiences understand often complex issues. Also key is to showcase stories from within our many communities that reflect constructively on multiculturalism & Indigenous affairs.

The Role

The Casual World News Technical Coordinator helps produce engaging content for audiences by coordinating World News TV bulletin technical demands and ensuring final media quality checks for broadcast.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Reviewing technical aspects of SBS World News
  • Supporting the World News supervising producer to ensure accuracy and timely delivery of all items for broadcast
  • Cross-checking supers and graphic text

About you

We're looking for someone who brings:

  • A demonstrated ability to work quickly and reliably under deadline pressure
  • Experience in communicating clearly and decision-making in complex situations
  • A proven background of ensuring accuracy in English text for broadcast
  • Experience with TV news technology
  • Experience in building relationships with multiple stakeholders
