This role is classified as Level 2 under SBS Australia's current Enterprise Agreement (with a base hourly salary range of $42 - $49 including 22.5% loading). The successful applicant will be offered remuneration that is commensurate with their skills and experience and in alignment with this framework.

As a rostered shiftworker, additional shift penalty payments may apply for work performed outside of ordinary hours, including weekends and public holidays, as per the SBS Enterprise Agreement (EA). SBS may also require you to work reasonable overtime, where overtime will be paid at applicable rates in accordance with the EA.

The Department

The principal purpose of SBS News and Current Affairs is to provide the most accurate, balanced and detailed coverage of international and major domestic news across all platforms. It is our role to deliver depth and analysis to help our audiences understand often complex issues. Also key is to showcase stories from within our many communities that reflect constructively on multiculturalism & Indigenous affairs.

The Role

The Casual World News Producer supports reporters and senior producers in delivering content for TV bulletins.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Writing high - quality, accurate news content for bulletins and updates
  • Supporting TV news chief producers and supervising producers
  • Supporting international and national assignment editors

About you

We're looking for someone who brings:

  • Demonstrates national and international news knowledge
  • Has previous TV news experience
  • A proven background in working under deadline pressure
  • Shows success in communicating clearly and respectfully in stressful situations
