Whites Hill State College are seeking an innovative and strategic Head of Department - Student Services for the 2026 school year with possible extension.

This is an exciting opportunity to help shape a positive, inclusive, and supportive learning environment where every student feels known, valued, and successful.

You will work collaboratively with teachers, teams, and school leadership to lead initiatives that:

  • Strengthen student engagement and wellbeing

  • Promote positive behaviour and inclusion

  • Support the holistic development of learners through a Multi-Tiered System of Support (MTSS) framework.

Your Role

In this role, you will influence whole-school improvement through the following activities:

  • Lead and guide evidence-informed initiatives to enhance student achievement, behaviour, attendance, and engagement, ensuring strong learning outcomes for all.
  • Support the Head of School - Primary and College Principal through timely and accurate data analysis, reporting, and returns.
  • Embed tiered support systems that address academic, social-emotional, and behavioural needs.
  • Promote and uphold high expectations for student conduct, achievement, and staff professionalism.
  • Set and maintain high standards for student and staff performance.
  • Monitor student progress and behaviour, leading proactive interventions, case management, and support planning in collaboration with staff and families.
  • Engage parents and staff to develop strategies that improve learning, achievement, and attendance.
  • Drive data-informed practice by preparing and analysing data to guide staff and support continuous improvement.
  • Apply relevant legislation, departmental policy, and whole-school processes to promote student success and staff wellbeing.
