**The Role**:
We are looking for a Head of Operations & Production to oversee daily activities across functions such as Operations, Food Production, Packing, Quality Assurance, Procurement, Wholesale & Projects divisions of Tortuga Ventures.

Ultimately, you’ll ensure our operations run smoothly and that people are productive.

**Key Responsibilities**:

- Formulate business strategy with others in the executive team
- Design policies that align with the overall strategy
- Aligning with management team to make decisions for operational activities and set strategic goals
- Planning and monitoring the day-to-day running of the business to ensure smooth progress
- Supervise staff from different departments and provide constructive feedback
- Implement efficient processes and standards
- Ensure compliance with local and international laws, ensuring company conforms to established regulations
- Oversee the implementation of technology solutions throughout the organization (ERPs, WMS, IMS etc)
- Manage procurement processes and coordinate material and resources allocation
- Manage contracts and relations with customers, vendors, partners and other stakeholders
- Evaluate risk and lead quality assurance efforts
- Oversee expenses and budgeting to help the organization optimize costs and benefits
- Review financial information and adjust operational budgets to promote profitability
- Revise and/or formulate policies and promote their implementation
- Manage relationships/agreements with external partners/vendors
- Evaluate overall performance by gathering, analysing and interpreting data and metrics
- Mentor and motivate teams to achieve productivity and engagement
- Report on operational performance and suggest improvements

**Daily & Monthly Responsibilities**
- Oversee day-to-day operations, assigning weekly performance goals and assuring their completion, while accomplishing your own goals
- Recruit, onboard, and train high-performing employees to achieve sales, profitability, market share, and business plan objectives
- Maintain project timelines to ensure tasks are accomplished on time with learnings understood & applied
- Develop, implement, and maintain budgetary and resource allocation plans across all departments
- Delegate responsibilities to the best employees to perform them while enforcing all policies, procedures, standards, specifications, guidelines, training programs, and cultural values
- Ensure the development of tactical programs to pursue targeted goals and objectives.
- Ensure the overall delivery and quality of the unit's offerings to customers.
- Evaluate and decide upon key investments in equipment, infrastructure, and talent.

**Required Qualifications**
- Proven experience as Head of Operations, Operations Director or similar leadership role
- Familiarity with all business functions including HR, finance, supply chain, manufacturing, Quality Assurance and IT
- Experience with implementing IT & ERP systems
- Experience with managing complex logistic networks & teams
- Knowledge of data analytics and reporting
- Outstanding communication and negotiation skills
- Excellent organizational and leadership ability
- Analytical mind
- Problem-solving aptitude
- High level of experience in manufacturing/operations
- Proven experience in a managerial role
- Proven ability to develop and maintain financial plans
- Ability to motivate and lead people, and hold employees accountable
- Strong working knowledge of operational procedures
- Excellent time management for handling multiple responsibilities

**Preferred Qualifications**:

- Masters degree in business management or related field
- Experience at a start-up
- Past experience in subscription-based enterprises

**Salary**: $90,000.00 - $100,614.36 per year
