**HEAD OF DEPARTMENT - SCIENCE**
**TERM 1, 2025 START
**Cranbrook School is seeking an outstanding Science Teacher to lead our Science
Department commencing Term 1, 2025.
**ABOUT THE POSITION**
This is a full-time position based at the Senior School campus in Bellevue Hill.
The Head of Department provides leadership and support to staff and students, is
responsible for curriculum development and implementation and manages the
Department’s budget. The role will be offered as a permanent appointment to our teaching
staff accompanied by a three-year contract as the Head of Department - Science.
Teachers at Cranbrook take an active and enthusiastic part in the full life of the School,
including involvement in the School’s co-curricular program requiring work outside normal

**SELECTION CRITERIA**
- NESA accreditation to teach in New South Wales (required)
- Tertiary qualifications with the ability to teach Visual Arts to secondary school students.
Experience teaching within an IB framework would be advantageous.***
- Sound knowledge and understanding of the NSW Curriculum and current teaching and
learning theory and practice
- Leadership experience or experience coordinating a small team***
- Capacity to create a motivating and engaging learning environment that caters to the
diverse needs of all learners through varied teaching strategies and pedagogical
practices to maximise learning
- Experience with a range of online platforms, including Learning Management Systems,
to support learning and provide feedback
- Demonstrated ability to differentiate instruction and cater to diverse learning needs
- Creative mindset and ability to design interactive and dynamic lessons
- Organisational skills to manage schedules, events and student records
- A level of mobility that supports the ability to respond to a first aid / behavioural
incident
- Current First Aid and CPR qualifications
- A firm commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children
- A demonstrated understanding of child safety and appropriate behaviours when
engaging with children.
