Fast-growing, purpose-led and Private-Equity backed organisation is looking for a Melbourne based Business Development Manager to drive business.

About the role:

This newly created Business Development Manager role reports to the executive sales team and will lead sales growth across key beauty brands.

This role will include strategic new business development, management of existing accounts and development of sales strategy.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Demonstrate consistent success in winning new business, meeting or exceeding sales targets, and delivering strong deal outcomes.
  • Manage the full sales process, including prospecting, pipeline management, forecasting, and effective use of CRM systems.
  • Maintain a strong understanding of the beauty, wellness, FMCG, or adjacent sectors, with awareness of market trends, competitors, and brand positioning.
  • Handle objections confidently, negotiate commercial terms, and close deals effectively to achieve revenue goals.
  • Collaborate closely with Marketing, Account Management, and Project or Technical teams to ensure smooth client transitions from sales to delivery.
  • Show persistence, adaptability, and a growth mindset when managing long or complex sales cycles, maintaining focus and resilience in a competitive environment.

Skills and Experience:

  • Strong commercial and sales acumen, with a talent for spotting opportunities and turning ideas into tangible results.
  • Solid understanding of market dynamics, pricing strategies, and the key drivers that influence revenue growth.
  • Confident and clear communicator, able to build rapport, influence others, and adapt messaging for different audiences and levels of technical understanding.
  • Skilled at navigating complex discussions and working with both internal teams and external partners.
