Project Manager - Heritage Redevelopment
Are you an experienced Project Manager with a passion for heritage restoration and property redevelopment? My client is looking for an experienced development professional with experience working for owners to lead the end-to-end redevelopment of this landmark heritage site. The role will be based in the CBD of Sydney and the expectation is that the project will take 2 to 3 years to complete.
Responsibilities
- Manage and oversee the full property redevelopment life-cycle of the heritage project for the owner, including design, statutory approvals, procurement, construction and handover.
- Liaise with internal stakeholders to finalise the architectural requirements of the redevelopment of the site.
- Provide strategic insights and recommendations to the client based on industry best practices, emerging trends and project needs.
- Attend meetings with the client with architects, engineers, other consultants and Capital Insight.
- Take responsibility for driving the project to budget. Instruct Capital Insight as to the carrying out of the works and perusing all tenders for building works.
- Maintain oversight of project progress, ensuring that the project is hitting its milestones, and that the contractor is delivering upon its deliverables within the provided time-frames
- Inspect the site on a regular basis to have onsite project updates on the building works.
- Prepare and present progress reports, business cases and project documentation for executive review of the owner.
- Work closely with local councils, heritage authorities and community stakeholders to ensure compliance, progress and engagement.
- Identify, assess and manage risks across all stages of the development and construction process.
- Assist in providing ideas and feasibility as to the commercialisation of the site.
Requirements:
- Tertiary qualifications in Construction, Project Management, Architecture or another relevant field.
- Extensive experience managing end-to-end development projects.
- Proven experience managing the redevelopment of heritage projects within Sydney.
- Strong understanding of heritage building codes, development approvals and other processes involved in the redevelopment project.
- Demonstrated ability managing contractors and multiple stakeholders.
- Excellent communication and engagement skills.
