Role Overview

The Technical Sales Manager will be responsible for identifying and developing new business opportunities, nurturing key accounts, and driving revenue growth across industrial markets. This role requires not only strong sales acumen but also deep technical knowledge to understand customer challenges and provide tailored solutions.

You will play a pivotal role in bridging the gap between our engineering capabilities and customer requirements—acting as a trusted advisor who can translate complex technical concepts into commercially viable solutions.

Key Responsibilities
  • Business Development & Revenue Growth:

  • Identify and target growth opportunities within the industrial sector, including manufacturing, energy, resources, defence, and infrastructure.

  • Develop and execute sales strategies to achieve revenue and margin targets.
  • Expand customer base by building strong, long-term relationships with decision-makers and influencers.
  • Technical Expertise & Solution Selling:

  • Engage with engineers, procurement specialists, and plant managers to understand application challenges.

  • Provide technically sound recommendations and solutions that demonstrate the value of Convoluted Technologies' product range.
  • Deliver presentations and technical support throughout the sales cycle.
  • Account Management:

  • Manage existing key accounts to ensure continued satisfaction and retention.

  • Identify upselling and cross-selling opportunities within current customer portfolios.
  • Act as the primary point of contact for technical and commercial discussions.
  • Collaboration & Market Intelligence:

  • Work closely with internal engineering, production, and quality teams to align customer needs with product capabilities.

  • Gather and analyse market trends, competitor activity, and customer insights to inform business strategy.
  • Provide input on new product development and innovation opportunities.
Skills & Experience
  • Proven track record in technical sales or business development within the industrial, manufacturing, or engineering sector.
  • Strong technical background in mechanical or industrial engineering (qualification preferred but not essential).
  • Ability to understand, interpret, and explain technical drawings, specifications, and engineering concepts.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills.
  • Results-driven, with a focus on delivering growth targets.
  • Ability to travel domestically and internationally as required.
