National Business Development Manager

Our client, a global player and leading provider of comprehensive logistics solutions, is expanding. They are looking for National Business Development Managers, experienced across contract logistics sales to consolidate the growth and support the momentum the business is currently experiencing. We are looking for sales gurus across verticals including FMCG, Bulk, Industrial and Freight Forwarding.
Step into a pivotal role, reporting to the National Sales Manager and drive strategic growth by unlocking new logistics opportunities and expanding the footprint across both mature and emerging supply chain markets.
Backed by a strong strategic vision, you'll be handed a blank canvas with real autonomy to own the strategy, build your pipeline and close deals that make an impact. You will be instrumental in positioning the business as a leading provider of comprehensive logistics solutions that delivers exceptional value and service to its clients and is considered a trusted and indispensable partner in the industry.
In this role you will:
- Design and implement strategic initiatives that support growth objectives while fostering innovative approaches to build lasting customer relationships and drive long-term expansion.
- Own the vertical, from go-to-market strategy through to execution.
- Identify and pursue strategic sales opportunities, leverage networking efforts and support and manage high-value relationships and key partnerships.
- Work cross-functionally to deliver integrated, end-to-end logistics solutions.
- Prepare tailored proposals, lead commercial negotiations and close high-value contracts.
- Monitor market trends to stay ahead of the curve and refine strategy accordingly.
- Deliver strong year-over-year revenue growth through expansion into new markets and segments.
- Travel domestically when required.
About you:
- Proven experience selling contract logistics.
- Formal qualifications in business or related discipline is preferred.
- Excellent attention to detail, a strong bias towards action and a love for the negotiation process.
- Strong track record of developing and executing sales growth pipelines, exceeding sales targets and managing large tender responses.
- Natural relationship-builder and influencer who thrives on closing complex deals.
- Strategic thinker with a sharp commercial mindset.
- High-level communication and presentation skills, you can influence C-suite decisions.
- You're a sales hunter - goal oriented, proactive and skilled in prospecting. Intrinsically motivated, you excel at identifying potential customers and are adept at negotiation, overcoming objections and closing the sale.
