About the role

We are seeking a friendly and professional GP Medical Practice Receptionist to join our team at Boon Health Centre in Sutherland, NSW. This is a casual part-time role (2-3 days/week) potentially leading to a permanent role, offering flexible work arrangements to suit your lifestyle.

What you'll be doing

  • Greeting patients and visitors in a warm and welcoming manner
  • Booking and managing patient appointments in our scheduling system
  • Answering incoming phone calls and responding to inquiries
  • Assisting with patient registration and record-keeping
  • Maintaining a clean and organised reception area
  • Providing general administrative support to the medical practice as required

What we're looking for

  • Minimum 1-2 years' experience working as a receptionist within a medical or healthcare setting
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact with patients in a friendly and professional manner
  • Excellent organisational and multitasking abilities, with a keen eye for detail
  • Proficient in using computer system, Microsoft Office software e.g. WORD and EXCEL and Best Practice medical software
  • A genuine interest in the healthcare industry and a commitment to providing high-quality patient care
  • Experience with Medicare billing and processing patient rebates
  • Basic understanding of medical terminology and healthcare processes
  • Australian citizenship, permanent residency, or valid work visa with appropriate work rights
  • Year 12 completion or equivalent qualification preferred
