As a Medical Receptionist, you will be an essential part of our team, ensuring that every patient interaction is handled with professionalism and compassion. You will be working as part of an experienced team, interacting with patients and staff to facilitate a seamless patient journey from the moment they walk in until their care is complete.
Key Responsibilities:
- Welcome patients and visitors with a professional and friendly attitude.
- Manage appointments, patient registration, and scheduling with accuracy.
- Handle phone calls, inquiries, and appointment confirmations.
- Process Medicare, private health, and other billing procedures.
- Maintain confidentiality and ensure compliance with healthcare regulations.
- Assist in maintaining a smooth patient journey and a well-organized reception area.
- Support administrative and clinical teams as required.
What We're Looking For:
- Previous experience as a medical receptionist (preferred but not essential).
- Proficiency in medical software systems (e.g., Best Practice, HotDoc).
- Strong organisational and multitasking skills in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Attention to detail.
- Multitasking: the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment while managing multiple responsibilities.
- Professionalism: A patient-first attitude with a commitment to confidentiality and excellent customer service.
- Flexibility: Willingness to adapt to various duties, including occasional reception coverage during busy periods.
- Knowledge of Medicare billing and healthcare protocols is a bonus.
- A positive, patient-first attitude and a commitment to confidentiality.
