About the role

Protective Fencing is seeking a Purchasing Officer to join our team in our Somersby, NSW office. In this full-time role, you will be responsible for overseeing the procurement of materials, equipment and services required for our manufacturing operations.

What you'll be doing

  • Manage the end-to-end purchasing process, including identifying suppliers, negotiating contracts, and placing orders
  • Monitor and maintain inventory levels to ensure availability of necessary materials and components
  • Collaborate with production, logistics and finance teams to optimise purchasing and inventory management
  • Analyse purchasing data and trends to identify opportunities for cost savings and process improvements
  • Ensure all purchases comply with company policies and procedures as well as relevant regulations
  • Provide regular reports on purchasing activities and KPIs

What we're looking for

  • Minimum 3 years of experience in a purchasing or procurement role, preferably within a manufacturing or logistics environment
  • Strong negotiation and contract management skills
  • Proficient in data analysis and reporting using tools like Excel
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities
  • Working knowledge of inventory management principles and ERP systems
  • Tertiary qualification in Supply Chain, Logistics, or a related field is desirable
