Commercial Sales Lead

Job purpose:

Are you a relationship-driven professional with a passion for sport, entertainment, and creating outstanding client experiences? Optus Stadium – Australia's most dynamic major event venue – is seeking a Commercial Sales Lead to join our high-performing team.

This full-time role plays a key part in driving growth across our commercial portfolio, including corporate hospitality, stadium partnerships, and bespoke events. You'll build trusted relationships, identify client needs, and help deliver memorable experiences that reflect the energy of one of the world's great stadiums.

In this role you will

  • Guided by the Senior Sales Manager, you will drive sales and meet revenue targets across a wide range of corporate hospitality products Suites, Lounges, Clubs, Restaurants, and more.
  • Convert leads into long-term relationships through exceptional service and follow-through
  • Develop tailored proposals and present solutions that meet client objectives.
  • Manage the end-to-end sales process from proposal to contract and invoicing.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with clients and stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to ensure seamless delivery on event days.
  • Maintain accurate sales records and pipeline reports.
  • Represent Optus Stadium with professionalism and passion across all client interactions.

To be successful, you will have:

  • Full and unrestricted working rights in Australia (no limitations on hours or restrictions working for the same employer).
  • Proven experience in sales, business development or account management - ideally in sport, entertainment, hospitality or events.
  • A proactive, energetic approach with the ability to work both independently and collaboratively.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • A people-focused approach with strong relationship-building skills.
  • Confidence presenting ideas and solutions to clients.
  • Excellent organisational and administrative capabilities, including CRM and Microsoft Office proficiency.
  • Flexibility to work across event schedules where required.

While the standard working hours are 8:30am to 5:00pm, the nature of the events industry means you will be required to work outside these hours, especially during events held at Optus Stadium and Stadium Park.
