Ferrovial is a global leader in infrastructure, energy and construction, delivering landmark projects across 15+ countries. In Australia, they are growing their renewable energy portfolio and are seeking an experienced Wind Project Manager / Project Director to lead the development and delivery of utility-scale wind farm Balance of Plant (BOP) projects across Australia.
This is a senior leadership position responsible for the full lifecycle of large-scale wind farm projects — from early technical and commercial input during bids, through engineering, procurement, construction, and handover. The role will suit a collaborative leader who is confident managing complex stakeholders, building high-performing project teams, and ensuring safe, high-quality project outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead end-to-end delivery of utility-scale BOP wind projects, ensuring performance across safety, cost, schedule and quality.
- Develop project execution strategies, structures and delivery plans including subcontractor and JV partner engagement.
- Oversee engineering design, procurement and construction aligned to Australian regulatory frameworks and grid connection requirements.
- Coordinate internal and external multidisciplinary teams and drive proactive stakeholder communication.
- Identify, assess and mitigate project risks while promoting a strong safety and continuous improvement culture.
- Provide technical and commercial leadership during bid and business development phases.
- Represent Ferrovial with clients, community stakeholders, regulatory bodies and industry partners.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or related discipline; postgraduate qualifications highly regarded.
- 8+ years' experience delivering civil balance of plant for wind projects at scale, from construction through commissioning.
- Strong track record working in regional project environments, with an appreciation for local community and cultural contexts.
- Demonstrated ability to lead teams, manage contractors, resolve issues, and maintain collaborative stakeholder relationships.
- Deep understanding of WHS, environmental frameworks and ISO-certified management systems.
- Highly organised, solutions-focused, and confident managing complexity and deadlines.
- Willingness to travel to project sites as required.
Why Ferrovial
- Play a key leadership role in the growth of our Australian renewable energy portfolio.
- Be part of a reputable global organisation with major infrastructure and energy capability.
- Autonomy, executive visibility, and space to influence strategy and delivery outcomes.
- Strong, renowned brand with proven track record of successful complex projects delivered in multiple sectors - and a strong pipeline of work.
