Commercial and Industrial Technical Resin Flooring Estimator/ Trainee.

Epcon Contracting is a leading Queensland Epoxy Resin Flooring installer based in North Lakes, working with some of Australia's largest companies in the Food and Beverage industry.

Due to ongoing growth in our industry, we have an exciting opportunity for a Trainee/ Estimator .

This role will work alongside and support our Other Estimators and Operations with the daily

This is a full-time office-based role, requiring work duties from Monday to Friday between 7am and 4 pm.

Estimator Job Responsibilities

Prepares work to be estimated by gathering proposals, blueprints, specifications, and related documents.

  • Maintains contact and relationships with private individuals and other organizations.
  • Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
  • Assist in preparing quantity take-offs and cost estimates under supervision.( Trainee's)
  • Gather and review supplier/subcontractor quotes for inclusion in tenders.
  • Support senior management in preparing bid documentation, schedules, and cost breakdowns.
  • Conduct site visits with senior staff to collect project-specific information.
  • Assist in preparing tender submissions and other project documentation.
  • Perform administrative tasks to support the estimating team, including document control and filing.
  • Learn and develop proficiency in estimating software and company systems.

SKILLS & EXPERIENCE:

  • Experience in the building and construction industry is required.
  • Proficient in estimating software and the Microsoft Office Suite, coupled with a keen ability to adapt to new technology (e.g. Procore Estimating)
  • Adept at performing take-offs, reviewing scopes, and assembling tender submissions.
  • Capability to work independently and juggle multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Skill in reading and interpreting drawings, with a proven track record of pinpointing potential cost savings.

  • Current Construction Induction Card (White/Blue Card) (Mandatory)

  • Current Driver's Licence (Mandatory).

  • Ability to pass a pre-employment background checks.
