The Role:
As Civil Estimator, you will play a key role in shaping the company's pipeline of work. You'll:
- Prepare detailed cost estimates for civil construction projects (earthworks, drainage, roads, structures, concrete remediation, ground engineering, and waste management).
- Analyse project plans, technical specifications, and tender documentation.
- Conduct quantity take-offs, cost breakdowns, and risk assessments with precision.
- Work closely with Project Managers, Engineers, and the Senior Leadership Team to ensure estimates are competitive and deliverable.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with subcontractors and suppliers to source competitive pricing.
- Identify value engineering opportunities and deliver cost efficiencies without compromising quality or safety.
- Drive tender submissions that position our client as the contractor of choice.

- Has a proven track record of winning work across civil infrastructure projects.
- Understands the commercial side of construction and can spot opportunities for efficiencies.
- Can influence stakeholders, negotiate with confidence, and present professionally.
Essential Requirements:
- Minimum 5+ years' experience as a Civil Estimator in the construction industry.
- Strong knowledge of civil works (earthmoving, roads, drainage, concrete, structures).
- Proficiency with estimation software (such as Expert Estimation, Candy, or similar).
- Strong ability to interpret engineering drawings, technical documents, and specifications.
- High-level numeracy, analytical thinking, and attention to detail.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills for preparing bids and tenders.
- White Card and current driver's licence.
Highly Regarded:
- Experience in ground engineering, concrete remediation, and environmental/waste management projects.
- A tertiary qualification in Civil Engineering, Quantity Surveying, or Construction Management.
- Previous involvement in first-principles estimating.
- Previous experience with Tier 1 or 2 civil contractor
