About the MIC Board

We are embarking on an exciting chapter of renewal and transformation and are seeking to appoint suitably qualified and committed
Non Executive Directors
to fill upcoming vacancies in December 2025, for a Term 1 January 2026 commencement. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Attend and contribute to bi-monthly onsite Board meetings minutes);
  • Provide input and expertise to assist Board decision-making;
  • Participate in Board sub committees (meeting quarterly);
  • Govern performance and outcomes of MIC Leadership;
  • Ensure decisions reflect and align with MIC's Strategic Plan, Intent and Values.

The MIC Board will consist of 3 MIC Parents and 4 other Directors appointed for an initial 3 year term. Roles are voluntary but eligible for expense reimbursement for expenses incured.

About You

Our Board must work as a team to value the unique contributions of all people and improve the diversity of our College. If you don't perfectly meet our requirements but identify with a group that is traditionally under-represented on Boards, we would love to hear from you. We are all about diversity in thought and inclusivity in practice and we'd love to hear from people who want to be part of that. We are particularly interested in prospective Non Executive Directors with expertise in:

  1. Commercial or NFP Accounting and Finance;
  2. Civil Engineering/Building Construction or Development;
  3. Technology (including Cyber Security);
  4. Government Relations at a Local and State level;
  5. Marketing, Brand or Communications;
  6. Independant School Education or Early Learning, ideally with a Montessori focus

In addition to your specific expertise, you will be a strategic thinker with a deep commitment to realising 10+ years of capital works projects and making an impact in your local community. You will also bring to the table:

  • A philosophy of innovation, contemporary thinking, and a dedication to building a culture that embodies MIC's Values of Courage, Respect, Integrity, Genorisity,
  • Commercial acumen, credibility in your area of expertise and exceptional presence;
  • Understanding of the legal, ethical, fiduciary, and financial responsibilities of a Board Director (GAICD qualification advantageous);
  • The ability to probe, question and offer thought-provoking and perceptive insights;
  • No conflicts of interest in relation to MIC's business and a clear National Police Clearance and Working with Children Check.
